Hand Soap (Superfat Castile)
You use hand soap dozens of times each day. In fact, there is likely no other household product you use more. Ours is made from a liquid castile concentrate, carefully crafted in small batches. For our hand soap, we combine potassium hydroxide with coconut, olive, jojoba and hemp oils to create a liquid soap which is as moisturizing as it is cleansing.
Hand soap is the first product we made with castile. Originally, our motives were simple— we wanted to eliminate waste by making our own products. What we found, however, was that this hand soap was so much more nourishing for our skin. Every winter, my hands age about 30 years. They crack, burn and itch from the dry air and so much washing. Since I’ve begun using this soap, my hands look like they belong to my 40 year old self and I am relieved not to be in so much pain.
Application: One to two small pumps should be plenty to work into a sufficient lather. Our soap is not as thick as store bought soaps and won’t generate as much foam. Most store bought soaps are actually detergents, making them feel and operate differently. Please don’t let this worry you; our hand soap will effectively remove bacteria, germs, grease and dirt. Like all other hand soaps, washing thoroughly for at least 20 seconds is prescribed.
